"Dimple" and "Phoebe" are proudly owned in partnership with Rosemary Griffiths..
Foxhounds played a large part in our family, what with having 4 generations of
Chief Whipper Ins.
I remember as a child, sitting by my Grandfather and listening to his stories - obviously fuelled with a large stirrup cup - of packs of hounds giving tongue on the scent of a fox, with riders flashing by in their red jackets and ladies hanging on to their side saddles, the blare of the hunting horn when the quarry was found, the pounding of the hoofs as they gave chase over the fields.
It sounded so exciting and I hung
on his every word.
He was the last Chief Whipper In we had in our family, he, like his Father, his Fathers father and HIS fathers father had worked and at some point lived with their beloved hounds.
So the Foxhound ran through the family's veins in a very big way.

Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that at the end of 2008, we would be blessed with not only
one but two beautiful Foxhound girls.
At the SKC in May 2008 we met Rosemary Griffiths and her Dazzleby Foxhounds, this rekindled my love of the breed and
my desire for owning one or two,
OR............. maybe a pack of my own!!!
We travelled down in October 2008 to see the litter she had
and to pick one.
Alasdair liked Phoebe, I liked Dimple, so to save arguments,
we took both girls!!!
So, Foxhounds returned to our family after nearly 75 years.
They are exactly as my Grandfathers stories described them to be, stubborn, willful, very noisy, never ever tire, but comedic, extremely friendly, and despite general opinion, very easy to train!
Dimple and Phoebe show careers do not start until February 2009, but we have high hopes for our two hounds.
Keep watching their own pages for regular updates.
I always knew how hard it was for someone outside the hunt scene to acquire a Foxhound, so I settled on the next best thing.....Beagles.
They are, of course the "poor man's Foxhound" being hunted on foot.
We had an absolutely brilliant time spent with our wonderful little hounds, but there was always something missing.
