All I have known is dogs but my particular favourite breed is the German Shepherd.
Being born into a family whos heritage in dogs goes back to the mid 1800's is quite a feat to follow, especially trying to emulate my Parents
famous Kennel Affix of Haughmill, well known for their GSDs but in particular the Beagles and English Foxhounds, but I thought it was about time that I branched out with my own dogs and with my very own affix, Domage.
I was born in front of a coal fire with a German Shepherd lying beside my Mum. This Shepherd Rigsby, helped my take my very first steps and was my best friend for years. I have never looked back from that and have gone on to aid in the training, matings, whelpings and the everyday Kennel duties at my Mother and Fathers kennel. This has given me experience and knowledge only gained by a hands on approach.
As I am only starting out on my own, I will still be shouting for 'help' from my Parents now and again when I am unsure of something as they are a minefield of knowledge.
I am looking forward to the challenge of rearing the type of Shepherd that has all of the traits which I feel the breed should have, looks, type, movement, conformation, workability, intelligence and especially temperament.
My lines will of course be mainly of German extraction and only Kennel Club recognized colours.
I hope you enjoy my small website which as it is my first, I am very proud of.
