Well Hello there beautiful!

Well Hello there beautiful!

See you brought a friend!

See you brought a friend!

Our four Cuyaga Ducks are very much a part of the family here at Haughmill. The Cuyaga takes their name from the
Cuyaga Lake in New York State.  The Cuyaga are more docile than most ducks and not as noisy!!!

Naming them was quite a task, as none of us could
tell them apart so,  Alasdair just started saying
Eeni, Meeni, Myni and Mo and the names stuck.

The egg yield is approx 1/2 per day from each duck, but in the Spring we will allow them to hatch a few for us and we will have a batch of ducklings. (See For Sale page)
Our cat, Jack was one of two we acquired, a boy and a girl.   Alasdair insisted on calling them Jack & Danni  !!!!!
Unfortunately, Danni went missing during the Summer of '08. That left us with Jack, who became quite an accomplished hunter, helping to keep the rabbit population down who at that time were decimating my garden of flowers and plants.

Spring '09, Jack decided on a quick sex change and became Jacky!!!! Producing 5 beautiful, healthy and rather naughty kittens. We decided to keep them four of them and our daughter, Tania and son-in-law, Sean took the fifth.
We named them  Jerry, Mungo, Midge, Molly and Smudge.  Since going to Tania's home, Midge has been renamed to Ripley!

Mum, Jack is well on her way in teaching them the wonders of the wild and the art of making a good hunter.

Many a time a live rabbit, magpie or mole has been brought into the house for a lunch-time game!!!! To great annoyance and moaning, the A La Carte  meal is swiftly put back outside, so they can finish off Al Fresco style!!!

Ripley has since returned to us from Tania's home as Sean developed a serious allergic reaction and actually ended up in hospital a few times.  He has settled back into the Haughmill way of life and is once again 'leader' of the pack!

We also discovered that out of the five kittens - only ONE was a female.
So we will have four males running about with hormones raging wondering who is going to be 'TOP CAT'
