The three stooges...........Melba thought Tania was VERY comfy.....her normal place for sleeping when she came into the house. Tania's hot-water-bottle!!
A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into the building of these kennels. Petterden House, Petterden later became a small animal hospital for the SSPCA.

"Zigs" doing what he loved best, feeling the wind flow through his ears. He was actually chasing a cat, but we thoughtfully cut the image of the cat scurrying away.
"Zigs" did not catch the cat, by the way. The cat was smart and shot up a tree, much to "Zigs" disgust. Picture taken 1991.

Ziggy was out of our first homebred litter. He was a true dream to have around. Out of all our Beagles, Ziggy was Carolyne's favourite.

Melba teaching Tania how to handle. It must have worked, as Tania qualified so many times for the Junior Handling finals down at Richmond Championship Show! Tan always thanked Melba for that.
I know i am good but PLEASE !!!
Let me sleep......
I think Tania imagines that Tillie is a horse/pony......Tillie isn't too comfortable with this idea. It's ok no animal OR child was hurt during the making of this picture!!!

Dimple was our first "baby", bought in from Liz Calikes and David Bradley of Newlin Beagles. She had a really bright start to her show career in all her Puppy classes. Winning six 1st places at her first six Championship shows. She produced a couple of cracking litters for us, with some superb puppies in them. Dimple went into the big field in the sky to chase rabbits 20th May 1995. R.I.P Baby Girl
We mated Dimple to "Nugget", who was owned by Veronica Bradley and Ken Burgess of the Duffosee Kennel. The day we went down there it was all flooded and we didn't think we would get back home. Ken and Veronica have a beautiful English Country Cottage...I was envious!!!
Dimple was a superb Mum, very attentive to her puppies AND their food!!!

Even after 17 years, Alasdair still doesn't forgive me for selling Rags (Rapture in Blue). He was a stunning little boy, whos show career ran for a total of 3 months. In which time he won: 2 Best Puppy in Groups, 5 Best Puppy in Breeds and numerous 1sts. He was only shown at 12 shows!!! And I went and sold him as a pet!!! Oooooooooooh! bad me!!!! Rhapsody was only shown 4 times and won three 1sts.....all at Championship shows.....AND yes you have guessed it...I sold her too!!!

"Sarg" was a lovely wee boy, took his dads temperament and kindness of eye.
Tess (Tillie's daughter) discovering snow is FUN to play in
This is when Crufts was still held at Earls Court in London. We took Caurniehill Ocean (Shona) and we got a 2nd, which wasn't too shabby.
Alasdair was so tired by the drive down that he decided to curl up next to the Beagles on their benches. HE didn't win anything. I put that down to the lack of movement!!!
They had the most beautiful of heads. Lovely puppies!
"Tillie" was our first Beagle. She was the matriarch of our kennels and ruled with an iron fist. First show that we ever went to was The Hound Association of Scotlands in Alva, we had entered two classes, won both and then won Best of Breed. We were hooked!!!
Thank you Tillie for being a great friend and inspiration for all those years.
Thought of fondly many times.
"Toni" was owned by Liz Calikes and David Bradley from the Newlin Beagle Kennels. He sired our Tillie's first litter and we were delighted with them.
"Toni" was one of Carolyne's all time favourite Beagles.
One of Melbas Puppies going through her paces.....and not very happy about it...she would rather be sleeping on the couch with her Mum and half brother, Ziggy
"Tillie" only came in season every 2 years. After we tried the first time at and failed, we then had to wait a further two years before taking her back to "Toni". This was VERY successful, resulting in 11 puppies. An extremely large litter for Beagles.
But what a litter it was. Lovely!
Shona was bred by Kathleen Cooper of Caurniehill Beagles and was half sister to our Haughmill Sergeant Pepper having "Mac" as Sire. We went to our first Crufts in 1988 with Shona and won a 2nd place.
Ode to Shona
It came to pass one winters day
We saw a bitch we wanted
Quality was obvious
Exuberance shee flaunted.
She'd qualified not once but thrice
For the dog worlds greatest show
Shona was her given name
Her fate we didn't know.
Six months passed and many times
She won the red or blue
But the one day her illness came
The vet was puzzled too.
We did our best, he did his
But soon it was to end
For all we tried and hoped and prayed
But still we lost a friend.
It's times like this you realise
Decisions must be made
The final curtains comes on down
There's no more to be said.
No longer does she suffer
Her tail now stands erect
She's at the dog show in the sky
What else do you expect.
So rest in peace dear Shona
Though short, your life was regal
Your memory will always be
A very special Beagle.

Showing her wee heart out! This pup out of Dimlple and Nugget was a lovely wee girl.
Yeah! Okay....its cheesy and tacky but it is called marketing!
We could not resist getting him into an Army Truck. The boys at the base fell in love with Ziggy, who played his part very well!
This is the pup that I mistakenly sold as a pet.......he had won 3 out of the 4 shows he had been at!! Silly me........Ali still goes on about it after 17 years!!
Tania is very embaressed that I have put this on the site!! for obvious reasons!! But I think it is a cute picture.
First blue Beagles born in Britain in over 30 years.
Newlin Dimple at Haughmill x Champion Newlin Prefect. 1993
Unfortunatley, Dimple whelped 11 days early, with 11 puppies. Within 11 days all but one wee blue boy had faded. After a lot of heart wrenching and 5 weeks of constant care, we had to do the decent thing with him and send him to the big hunting field in the sky to join his brothers and sisters. A very sad event. R.I.P my babies
Rigsby(GSD), Henry(Jack Russel) with a few of the Beagles... Dimple, Harmony, Rhaps, Ziggy, Tess, Snoopy, Asti, Mark, Symph, Tillie, Blue, and some of Dimples puppies.............Oh! and Tania!!
