Many, many moons ago...........in 1773!!!

We were given the opportunity of a wonderful little girl called Tillie.
She was from the Newlin Kennels of Liz Calikes and David Bradley and she had already eighteen months.
Tillie, or to give her her Kennel Club title, Newlin Unity had an illustrious show career, winning BEST PUPPY in SHOW at the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show in 1986.

And so it began, an obsession for Beagles that, although we no longer have any today, has never wained

Alasdair at Crufts, 1988 with Shona, Melba and Bunny

It was Love at first sight!

We quickly multiplied in numbers and found ourselves with Moses, Shona and Dimple.

These were followed by our foundation bitch Caurniehill Melba,  who was given to us by Kathleen Cooper of the Caurniehill Beagles.

Melba had already won a lot of Reserve Challenge Certificates and soon she was helping us win quite a few more.

We mated Melba to Champion Mistylaw Chuckles of Millmar and this produced our Top Winning Beagle of all time - Haughmill Sergeant Pepper or to his friends and family Ziggy!

Second mating for Melba was to the Top Winning Beagle for that year, Champion Julemark Hotspur by Nedlaw, Harvey.  Out of this mating came a wonderful boy, Haughmill Mark My Words.

After many years and travelling thousands and thousands of miles to Dog Shows, we had established ourselves as well respected breeder/exhibitors.
Which is no mean feat! And needed a very large bank balance!!!!

We ended up with 21 Beagles, a few GSDs, a wire coated undocked Jack Russell (named Henry after Hendrix) and Mum the matriarchal cat.

Like all good things, it had to end.

We had accomplished an immense amount with our beloved little Hounds.

PUP of THE YEAR finalist, Numerous STUD BOOK qualifications, Reserve CHALLENGE CERTIFICATES, Over 20 BEST in SHOW awards, 32 BEST PUPPY in SHOW awards, 47 BEST in GROUP awards, 78 BEST in BREED awards, and over 450 First place awards all at Championship and Open shows.

In 1997 in all came to a
very tearful adios.
We left for Mallorca.......................
But THAT is another story!
